American Heart Association Initial/Renewal Basic Life Support (BLS) Provider Certification Course (Instructor-Led)
AMERICAN HEART ASSOCIATION BASIC LIFE SUPPORT PROVIDER COURSE (INSTRUCTOR-LED)
The American Heart Association’s Basic Life Support (BLS) Provider Course is an instructor-led program designed for healthcare providers who care for patients in both pre-hospital and in-facility settings. This course covers essential life support skills, with a focus on high-quality CPR, improving chest compression rates, and efficient team dynamics.
Participants will learn how to recognize life-threatening emergencies, perform high-quality chest compressions, provide appropriate ventilation, and use an automated external defibrillator (AED). The course covers a range of topics, including but not limited to:
- The realities of CPR/Basic Life Support
- Scene safety and personal protective equipment
- The Chains of Survival for adults and pediatrics
- High-performance 1-rescuer CPR for adults, children, and infants
- High-performance 2-rescuer CPR for adults, children, and infants
- High-performance team/multi-rescuer CPR for adults, children, and infants
- Use of an AED for adults and pediatrics
- Rescue breathing for adults and pediatrics
- Choking relief for adults and pediatrics
- Special considerations in BLS/CPR
- Skills practice and testing
- Written exam
The BLS Provider Course is taught by experienced and certified AHA BLS Instructors or AHA BLS Instructor-Trainers, many of whom have professional experience in both hospital and pre-hospital settings. It is important to note that this course does not cover First Aid, as it is intended for individuals who have already completed a higher level of training, such as EMS, nursing, or medical certification. If you need both First Aid and CPR training, consider enrolling in the Heartsaver® Course.
Program Cost: $60.00 per client-student [Does not Include the AHA BLS Provider Textbook] (Can be obtained prior to or during class)
