Advanced EKG/ECG Interpretation Course (Lead II)

Spread the love

Description: This course is designed for healthcare professionals who have a basic understanding of EKG/ECG interpretation and want to advance their skills, particularly in interpreting lead II EKG/ECG readings. Participants will review basic EKG/ECG concepts and terminology before diving into advanced interpretation of EKG/ECG rhythms in lead II. The course will cover identification and management of complex EKG/ECG rhythms, as well as EKG/ECG findings in specific cardiac conditions. Participants will also learn advanced heart rate and rhythm calculation techniques, as well as EKG/ECG monitoring in critical care settings. The course will conclude with a discussion of emerging trends and technologies in EKG/ECG monitoring.

Course Outline:

Session 1: Review of Basic EKG/ECG Concepts and Terminology

  • Overview of the cardiac conduction system
  • Review of lead II EKG/ECG basics
  • Explanation of EKG/ECG terminology

Session 2: Advanced Interpretation of EKG/ECG Rhythms in Lead II

  • Identification and interpretation of complex EKG/ECG rhythms in lead II
  • Discussion of EKG/ECG findings in specific cardiac conditions (e.g., myocardial infarction, atrial fibrillation, etc.)
  • Practice reading and interpreting advanced lead II EKG/ECG strips

Session 3: Heart Rate and Rhythm Calculation

  • Advanced heart rate and rhythm calculation techniques
  • Discussion of the significance of heart rate and rhythm changes
  • Practice calculating heart rate and rhythm from EKG/ECG strips

Session 4: EKG/ECG Monitoring in Critical Care Settings

  • Discussion of EKG/ECG monitoring in various critical care settings (e.g., ICU, OR, etc.)
  • Advanced troubleshooting of EKG/ECG artifacts and interference
  • Overview of specialized EKG/ECG monitoring equipment and techniques

Session 5: Emerging Trends and Technologies in EKG/ECG Monitoring

  • Discussion of emerging trends and technologies in EKG/ECG monitoring (e.g., mobile monitoring, remote monitoring, etc.)
  • Overview of new EKG/ECG monitoring technologies and their potential impact on patient care

Final Exam:

  • A comprehensive exam covering all topics covered in the course
  • Passing score of 75% or higher is required to receive the certificate of completion

Topics:

  • Review of basic EKG/ECG concepts and terminology
