American Red Cross CPR/AED for the Professional Rescuer Certification (Instructor-Led)

The American Red Cross CPR/AED for Professional Rescuers program is designed to equip healthcare providers, emergency response personnel, and other professionals with the skills required to respond to breathing and cardiac emergencies in adults, children, and infants. The course covers a wide range of topics, including:

  1. The chain of survival
  2. Signs and symptoms of heart attack, stroke, and cardiac arrest
  3. Early recognition and intervention in cardiac emergencies
  4. Basic life support techniques for adults, children, and infants
  5. Use of Automated External Defibrillators (AEDs)
  6. Providing care within the Emergency Medical Services (EMS) system
  7. Effective communication during emergencies
  8. Responding to a choking emergency
  9. Principles of oxygen administration
  10. Special considerations for providing care to pregnant women, infants, and children
  11. Legal and ethical considerations in providing emergency care

Throughout the program, participants will also learn critical skills such as how to assess a person’s breathing and pulse, how to perform rescue breathing and chest compressions, and how to use an AED. Upon completing the course, participants will receive a certification card that is valid for two years, as well as the knowledge and confidence needed to respond effectively to emergency situations requiring CPR and AED intervention.
