Gregory B. Mays
Co-Owner/Founder / Chief Operations and Development Officer (CODO)
Gregory, as a co-owner and co-founder of Merchants of Medicine, brings a wealth of experience to his role. He has a notable background in both law enforcement and military service, having served in the US Army and Army National Guard as well as a career as a law enforcement supervisor.
Born and raised in Las Vegas, Gregory has deep roots in the community and is a proud father to six children (three boys and three girls) and a grandfather to one grandson.
In the 1990s, Gregory pursued comprehensive training in Emergency Medical Service (EMS) and held certifications ranging from Emergency Medical Responder to Paramedic. Additionally, he has gained expertise in health and safety instruction, including CPR and First Aid. Gregory also serves as a certified instructor and instructor-trainer for the American Red Cross, Emergency Care and Safety Institute, and other organizations.
In his military service, Gregory served as a Military Police Sergeant with the Nevada National Guard Reserve (NNGR) and was an active member of the unit’s specialized Community Emergency Response Team (C.E.R.T). His experience as an element leader and tactical medic provided valuable insights and training opportunities to his team.
In his extensive law enforcement career, Gregory held numerous commissioned law enforcement positions and gained experience in areas such as gang investigation, tactical response, law enforcement academy training, and counterterrorism. He also served as a training officer, training sergeant, and academy commander, further solidifying his role as a skilled instructor and mentor.
Currently, Gregory is a contracted adjunct instructor and chief course/program developer for the Nevada System of Higher Education, College of Southern Nevada (CSN), Division of Workforce and Economic Development (DWED). He is responsible for developing and teaching courses/programs related to emergency medical, protective services, instructor development, law enforcement, and active assailant survival and response.
In addition to his impressive background, Gregory holds several professional instructor and instructor-trainer certifications and is an American Heart Association Training Center Faculty. He currently serves as the AHA Training Site Programs Director for Merchants of Medicine and conducts all instructor training programs for the company.
